Class Description
CREATIVE DANCE - Ages 3 & 4
A program designed for our youngest dancers. Using creative motivations, students are
exposed to various forms of music, develop movement skills and concepts of rhythm.
An introduction to the terminology and basic skills of ballet tap is included in the syllabus.
KINDER - Age 5
More structure is introduced into the class developing concentration sills and learning basic
body placement concepts. Dance movements include ballet basics and tap technique.
ELEMENTARY BALLET - Ages 6 & 7
This program is designed to begin development of ballet technique using the structure of
a traditional ballet class. Ballet vocabulary is expanded and tap technique is refined
developing small motor skills.
BALLET 1 & 2
A full length classical ballet class incorporating barre and center exercises. Students are
introduced to ballet theory and learn technical requirements in a disciplined atmosphere.
BALLET 3, 4, & 5
An intermediate level where students are strongly advised to attend at least 2 ballet
technique classes weekly. A mastery of lower level technique is required.
BALLET 6 & 7
Advanced level ballet technique classes. Students are advised to attend 3-4 classes weekly.
POINTE - Ages 10 & Up
Pointe is offered to those students who have reached the Ballet 3 level. A minimum of 2
ballet technique classes per week is required in order to work in pointe shoes. Permission from
the school director is necessary before enrolling in Pointe classes and purchasing Pointe shoes.
JAZZ - Age 8 & Up
Level according to age and ability. Jazz technique stresses body placement, coordination, flexibility
and rhythmic awareness.
MODERN - 10 & Up
An expressive form of movement dealing with dynamics and body awareness.
TAP
Tap skills, rhythmic awareness and fine motor skills development are taught at various levels of difficulty. Student and Adult Classes.
